Job Title: Municipal Civil Engineering TechnicianPosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Technician to support municipal infrastructure projects. This role involves assisting engineers in the planning, design, and inspection of public works projects such as roads, stormwater systems, water and sewer lines, and site development. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, familiarity with municipal standards, and a commitment to improving community infrastructure.Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare engineering drawings, maps, and plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design software
  • Assist in the design and layout of municipal infrastructure including streets, sidewalks, drainage systems, and utilities
  • Conduct field surveys, site inspections, and data collection to support project development
  • Review construction plans and specifications for compliance with local codes and standards
  • Provide technical support during bidding, permitting, and construction phases
  • Maintain project documentation, records, and reports for internal and public use
  • Coordinate with contractors, utility companies, and other municipal departments
  • Support GIS mapping and asset management initiatives as needed
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in civil engineering or public works projects
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Suite, and GIS software
  • Knowledge of municipal design standards, construction practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to conduct fieldwork in various weather conditions
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
