- Team Leadership and Development: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists at various levels. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews to ensure team members reach their full potential.
- Project Oversight and Strategy: Lead the prioritization, planning, and execution of data science projects, ensuring alignment with product and business goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning models seamlessly into Relias’s products.
- Technical Guidance in Machine Learning and MLOps: Provide expertise in model development, validation, and deployment practices, setting high standards for scalability, accuracy, and performance in production. Ensure best practices are followed across the team for applied machine learning.
- Feature Engineering and Data Strategy: Oversee the team’s feature engineering efforts, optimizing data pipelines and ensuring effective data strategies that maximize model performance.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Ensure comprehensive documentation of all project workflows, model development, and evaluation methods. Promote knowledge sharing within the team and across the organization to maintain consistency and reproducibility.
- Leadership in Data Science: Proven experience in leading data science teams, including managing project workflows, providing technical guidance, and mentoring team members.
- Applied Machine Learning and MLOps: Deep understanding of machine learning model development and MLOps practices, with a focus on deploying models that support product objectives.
- Programming and Tools: Expertise in Python, including libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, PySpark, and deep learning frameworks. Experience with Databricks and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines is preferred.
- Feature Engineering and Data Strategy: Strong ability to guide feature engineering and data strategy efforts, enhancing model accuracy and effectiveness.
- Strategic Communication and Stakeholder Management: Ability to communicate complex data science concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, aligning project outcomes with business goals.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Commitment to thorough documentation practices and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing within the team.
- 5+ years of experience in a data science or machine learning role, with at least 3 years of leadership or management experience overseeing data science teams and projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, with a proven track record of success in managing complex machine learning projects and mentoring a team of data scientists.
