- Under the direct supervision of the Director of Radiology, Regional and/or site Manager.
- Arranges patients for radiological and/or DEXA examinations.
- Produces radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems.
- Prevents patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures.
- Required to set up and use all necessary diagnostic equipment for exam completion in general diagnostic and fluoroscopy areas.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Works under immediate supervision.
- A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
- Demonstrates competency in the performance of job related skills appropriate to his/her customer populations and departmental services while providing excellent customer service.
- Utilizes and operates equipment and mechanical devices which provide for a functional, effective, and safe environment.
- Adheres to policies, procedures, guidelines relative to departmental operations.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and the public and be capable of establishing good working relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures for CT
- Starts IVs for CT exams as applicable
- Assists the technologist with patient throughput, exam set-up, and injection materials
- Observe and learn CT procedures for patient screening, table set-up, positioning, and exam selection as directed by the technologist
- Enrollment in the Pulse Radiology CT Cross-Training course within 1 year of employment.
- Willingness to move sites to obtain required CT procedures necessary to sit for CT Registry
- Completion of CT Registry within 2 years of start date
- High School Diploma
- Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program in AMA approved school.
- Requires registration as a Radiologic Technologist by the A.R.R.T.
- Requires registration as a Certified Radiologic Technologist by the State
- Valid “hands-on” CPR certification
- 3 years of Radiological Imaging experience preferred
