The IT Project Manager plays a critical role in structuring, organizing and tracking IT operations across the entire company. This role will balance recurring work items (helpdesk, hardware procurement) alongside long-running project based work (Migrations from one cloud tool to another, implementing new IT acquired software for the first time, etc). The ideal candidate has a mix of agile and waterfall methodologies who can guide technical IT team members and vendors through well-defined milestones, backlogs and defined processes to drive results.Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Oversee and manage long-running IT projects, ensuring that deadlines, budgets, and scope are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Agile Methodology: Drive the adoption and continuous improvement of Agile practices across the team, ensuring that Scrum, Kanban, or other Agile frameworks are properly followed.
- Jira Management: Utilize Jira to track progress, manage user work queues, backlogs, sprints, and epic burndowns for long-running projects.
- Team Coordination: Facilitate both short-term focused IT engineers working on helpdesk, procurement and other regularly scheduled work as well as long-running projects such as system implementation or system migrations.
- Stakeholder Communication: Regularly update stakeholders and leadership on project status, roadblocks, risks, and opportunities.
- Process Definition: Outline processes and policies for regularly scheduled business needs such as employee onboarding, laptop procurement/upgrades, employee offboarding, etc.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze and apply lessons learned from previous projects to enhance future processes, tools, and team performance.
- Experience working with various cloud-based IT productivity systems such as Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, Hubspot, Atlassian JIRA, Zendesk and similar
- Proven experience as an IT Project Manager, managing complex, long-term technology projects.
- Strong expertise in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and experience with Agile transformation.
- Expertise in using Jira for tracking projects, managing backlogs, and sprint planning.
- Solid understanding of project lifecycle management, including requirement gathering, planning, execution, testing, and delivery.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certifications or similar
- Experience with other project management tools like Confluence, Trello, or Microsoft Project
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud technologies
- Background in software development or IT infrastructure projects
