Kforce's client, a well-established and growing firm in the fintech sector, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer (Java, Algo Trading) to join its talented engineering team in Jersey City, NJ. Summary: As a Principal Software Engineer (Java, Algo Trading), you'll join a team at the forefront of trading technology. You'll collaborate with industry experts, expand your technical skills, and deliver complex, high-performance systems that power global financial markets. Responsibilities:
  • Greenfield Project: Play a key in the design and development of a complex, global trading system - a key initiative offering the opportunity to build from the ground up
  • Algorithmic Trading & Smart Order Routing: Contribute to the development of advanced algorithmic trading strategies and smart order routing systems, ensuring optimal trade execution across multiple venues
  • Low-Latency Messaging: Engineer high-volume, low-latency messaging solutions for electronic trading using technologies such as Aeron, ensuring reliable, ultra-fast data transmission
  • Cutting-Edge Technology: Design and develop secure, scalable cloud-based services, complex distributed platforms, and APIs critical to supporting high-frequency trading
  • Agile Development: Engage in full lifecycle software engineering (Java) within an Agile environment, leveraging big data technologies to power real-time trading applications

  • Expertise in building high-performance systems using Java
  • Proven track record in low-latency front office trading system development
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture
  • Skilled in API design and integration with messaging systems
  • Knowledge of Aeron preferred.
  • Knowledge of Cloud AWS technology preferred
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable.
