- Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates mechanical components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)
- Coordinates mechanical engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other functional groups
- When delegated, provides guidance to other mechanical engineering personnel for specific tasks or projects
- Provides technical assistance to other mechanical personnel and will interact with project functions, the customer, and third parties to resolve non-conformances.
- Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project mechanical requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution
- Mentors and assists more junior mechanical team members
- Reviews mechanical documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance
- Revises calculations to close out open assumptions to complete design
- Revises drawings and mechanical schematics (P&IDs) for as-built design
- Monitors schedule adherance and assure a high degree of quality in work product
- Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to, P&IDs, calculations, and specifications for Mechanical systems and equipment.
- Must have knowledge of industry, codes, and standards (e.g. ASME B31.3), as well as Bechtel Corporate guides and standards.
- Must have worked in a Construction environment, either as a Field Engineer or supporting as a Resident Engineer resolving Non-Conformances and other Construction-related issues.
- Must have the ability to utilize office automation tools effectively.
- Must have a broad knowledge of the application of Mechanical engineering design principles.
- Must have experience working in facility piping, pneumatic and/or cryogenic design.
- Must have the legal right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Registered Professional Engineer in USA
- Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1.
- Experience including Government work.
- Experience using of Mechanical software tools for fluid flow analysis (e.g. AFT Arrow, AFT Fathom, PipeFlo)
