Class SummaryJob Description
This position is responsible for providing oversight to the Mail operational activities including workflow and customer service delivery. This is a supervisory position responsible for handling complex customer issues/complaints. This position will oversee mail operations such as the processing of work requests, provide advanced customer service regarding department issues to include processing or completing service delivery, and determine courier routes and operational needs to ensure timely service while taking fluctuating business needs into consideration.
Essential Duties
  • Supervising staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff members are trained, ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures, maintaining a healthy and safe working environment, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations
  • Preparing reports on functional activities including data processing and inventory and financial reports to ensure accuracies and adjustments
  • Investigating problems such as tracking service requests, researching routine and complex inquiries and directing it to the appropriate party, and working with customers and vendors to resolve issues
  • Evaluating operations and making recommendations for efficient mail processing methods and efficiently managing and ensuring maintenance of equipment and technology
  • Serving as liaison with vendors in determining upgrades and repairs and ensuring all equipment is appropriately supplied by vendor in accordance with contract. Troubleshooting and coordinating with vendor regarding basic repair issues, as appropriate
  • Assisting with preparation of the operating budget, compiling, justifying and monitoring expenditures
Grade
The grade for this position is B25(2). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or G.E.D and
  • Five years of specialized directly related experience, some of which must be in a leadership or supervisory capacity or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Business or a related field
  • Ability to obtain GCIC Security and Integrity Certification within 60 days
