This is a full time, exempt position.Job Summary:
The Nutrition Plant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing production processes related to Pea Protein (5PS) and Edible Bean (BK4) products on assigned shifts. This role ensures operational efficiency, safety compliance, and product quality while leading and developing a team of production employees.Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Production Management
- Direct daily operations to ensure production targets for 5PS and BK4 are met while maintaining efficiency, quality, and safety standards.
- Assign tasks to production personnel, optimizing workforce utilization based on skills and experience.
- Monitor process parameters to ensure compliance with established operating conditions.
- Identify and resolve process deviations, troubleshooting issues to maintain product integrity.
- Coordinate with maintenance and technical teams to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
- Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and company policies.
- Enforce compliance with occupational safety and environmental regulations.
- Identify potential safety and environmental risks, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Provide necessary training and resources to employees to maintain a safe work environment.
- Investigate safety incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Conduct regular safety and housekeeping inspections to ensure compliance and a clean working environment.
- Supervise and develop shift employees, providing coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Address employee concerns and maintain clear communication to drive engagement and morale.
- Conduct training programs to improve employee knowledge of 5PS and BK4 production processes.
- Collaborate with management to identify workforce development needs and succession planning.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Work closely with quality control teams to ensure product specifications are consistently met.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action plans for quality deviations.
- Drive initiatives for process optimization and lean manufacturing.
- Education & Training: Prior safety training and process knowledge in protein isolate, bean process, and food production facilities preferred.
- 1+ years of successful supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience with protein isolates and edible bean processes.
- Strong track record in safety compliance and operational excellence.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to train, develop, and motivate employees.
- Effective decision-making and conflict resolution skills.
