Perform all required duties in connection with receiving products and parts into warehouse, pull products and parts from location and move them to appropriate areas, load and un-load trucks. Drive tractor/trailer, van, straight truck, lift truck or other vehicles to pick-up and deliver parts, product, scrap, supplies, dies, equipment etc. between company plants, vendors and other designated destinations. Load, unload and arrange load for proper space and weight distribution, block and secure load as required to prevent shifting or damage in transit. Complete necessary loading documents, and follow verbal instructions. Perform various material handling duties including, but not limited to: counting, weighing, sorting, locating, stocking and delivering parts, materials, fabricated in-process stock, supplies, tools or equipment to required areas. Determine location and proper identification of parts and products.
  • Complete necessary loading documents, follow verbal instructions and all duties in connection with packing and crating various items of furniture and equipment, making up orders for shipment and necessary paperwork. Under the direction of the supervisor/zone lead, will be responsible for moving and spotting Hill-Rom trailers to and from various locations used by Hill-Rom.
  • Must have the knowledge and ability to drive a tractor-trailer, be able to deliver and pick up equipment at various docks located in the Batesville area. Deliver returned items to appropriate destinations.
  • Must be able to identify products by part number or description to efficiently load truck. Using Hill-Rom shipping orders – locate, check quantity and pack appropriately, any type of material. Follow verbal and written instructions, loading documents, shipping orders, and related data to plan and schedule work, assemble and fill customer orders and complete job tasks.
  • Perform all required duties to unload, store and deliver plant materials and supplies. Remove incoming materials from trucks or other vehicles by hand, industrial lift truck, overhead crane, fork truck, electrical lift truck, and/or tractor-trailer. As necessary, palletize bagged and other materials. Move, sort, count, stack and arrange materials as required. Update company database to properly account for material. Check for damaged, defective or questionable material or conditions.
  • Must be knowledgeable of the MRP system, stock movement procedures and overall manufacturing method of operations. Must use computer to determine or reconcile schedules and have an understanding of reports and documents generated by the MRP system.
  • Complete / maintain required paperwork such as quality charts, work instructions, production charts, log books, etc.
  • Use industrial trucks or manually carry and move parts.
  • May be necessary to assist in expediting parts required for production, maintain a good working relationship with employees and supervisor, follow all oral and published job instructions, established procedures of MRP and other related data.
  • Responsible for both quality and quantity of work: Participate in team activities and problem solving sessions as required. Communicate problems and/or solutions to appropriate team member. Must follow processes and procedures as written. As needed, document and/or chart production data to aid in problem identification, quality feedback and production scheduling. Troubleshoot problems when necessary. Train, instruct and assist other operators in their duties as required to ensure a quality product and smooth flow. Perform shelf life perishability audits as assigned. Accurately fill out the shelf life perishability identification sticker with all appropriate information.
  • Evaluate defective material and tooling, faulty operations, questionable conditions and potential work stoppages. Advise and recommend alternatives to appropriate team member. Ensure that work area and equipment are maintained in a clean, orderly and safe condition. Follow prescribed safety regulations.
