Blow Molding Operator – 2nd Shift (Lynchburg, VA)

- Perform attribute and variable bottle checks. Report out-of-specifications to appropriate personnel. Rework. Enter scrap and QC checks at Mattec.
- Perform bottle packaging, loading, labeling, transactions and storage. Retrieve used pallets and boxes from the production area.
- Complete all check sheets, documentation and file accordingly. Demonstrate good teamwork ethics by helping others.
- Safely perform a variety of cleaning including daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual. Basic housekeeping and preemptive maintenance cleaning. Maintain work area in a safe, clean and orderly condition according to GMPs.
- Perform material separation grinding, stacking, loading and unloading. Minor problem troubleshooting and investigations, bottle complaint investigations, Material Changeovers, reporting of major water and oil leaks. Start-up and Shut-down. Unloading of the resin railcar.
- Monitor Mattec and Una-Dyn systems for potential problems. Use SAP, Master Control and Label Matrix.
- Monitor and maintain raw materials, finished bottles and supplies inventories.
- Attend twice daily shift transition meetings, note specifics in the daily log book, maintain good communications within shift, and determine ways to improve efficiencies, safety and quality. Safely operate Molding equipment including grinders, blenders, storveyors, blowers, vacuum systems and scales. Report malfunctions.
- Maintain Molding warehouse in a clean and efficient manner. Retrieve and return electric trucks, properly dispose of purging, general trash, scrap, aerosol cans, used oil and oil soaked pig mats.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Assist in other production areas as needed with required training.
- Assist in the training of new operators.
- Substantial amount of walking required and occasional climbing on step ladders and platforms. Must be able to lift quantities up to 50 pounds.
- Requires the knowledge gained through a high school degree or the equivalent.
- Requires 2 or more years related experience.
- Demonstrate an understanding of all molding equipment and the ability to make minor adjustments as necessary.
- Must set a good example for all new operators by showing initiative and must have shown proficiency in understanding the operators job functions.
- Computer experience preferred.
