*This is a safety-sensitive position.Purpose of the JobThe Corporate Improvement manager will manage, standardize, coordinate and implement the improvement projects and actions that are assigned to him/her and that are embedded in the vision, strategic plan and objectives to transform Asco for the future.
The Corporate Improvement Manager will also manage and coordinate the new/re-engineering projects and /or changes that are assigned to him/her together with the respective project teams.Reporting to the Operational Excellence Director, the Corporate Improvement Manager will work together with and support Asco Group Management team to transform Asco’s strategic an commercial plan into improvement events and initiatives and to introduce assigned NPI and product & process changes throughout the Group.Essential Job Responsibilities:*Monitor and guide progress of lean and improvement projects in the group and ensure expected results are achieved and maintained to support site management and operational teams to transform for the future.Based on agreed scope of support, the Corporate Improvement Manager will support by:
- Preparing the project scope, plan & cost definition
- Leading the assigned team and track the actions to ensure completion of the project
- Assure risk register & follow-up throughout the project
- Enhance communication with all stakeholders (team members, customer, supplier, etc.) and escalate when required to respective organization leaders
- Track improvement objectives (e.g. cost, quality)
- Lead, launch, facilitate and/or participate in lean events and initiatives to implement and ensure standards to be followed.
- Train lean champions and event members to adhere to these standards.
- Support the lean champions and all other Asco colleagues in lean and improvement initiatives.
- Connect with Asco’s & Montana Aerospace’s continuous improvement and lean colleagues and management to standardize and share best practices
- Sets up validation of project charter and project scope
- Define & ensure follow-up and adherence to project plan
- Leads the assigned team and tracks the actions to assure completion of the project
- Ensure risk register & follow-up throughout the project
- Enhance communication with his/her role of leader as being the focal point of contact on the project and tracks actions with all stakeholders (team members, customer, suppliers, etc.)
- Ensures traceability of respective parts & process and ensure quality follow-up and actions to solve quality issues up to FAI parts & connects for following phases (ramp-up) with the Quality Engineer of the respective product
- Detail and control the cost, expenses and profitability of the project
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of continuous improvement and lean (manufacturing) tools and systems; Lean Six Sigma Black belt is a plus.
- Experience in project management is required; experience in industrial machining/manufacturing environment
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills; capable to interact and communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with people from all different levels
- Excellent presentation skills
