Job Title: Architectural Designer – Commercial ProjectsLocation: Downtown Milwaukee, WIEmployment Type: Full-TimeReports To: Senior Project Architect / Design DirectorPosition OverviewWe are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Architectural Designer to join our dynamic team in downtown Milwaukee. This role focuses on the design and development of commercial projects, including office buildings, retail spaces, mixed-use developments, and hospitality environments. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, technical expertise, and a collaborative spirit to help shape the urban landscape of Milwaukee through innovative and functional design solutions.Key Responsibilities
  • Develop conceptual designs, schematic layouts, and detailed construction documents for commercial projects
  • Collaborate with project teams, consultants, and clients throughout all phases of design and construction
  • Conduct site analysis, zoning research, and feasibility studies to inform design decisions
  • Prepare presentations and visualizations using tools such as SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, ADA standards, and sustainability guidelines
  • Participate in design reviews, client meetings, and coordination sessions with engineers and contractors
  • Support project management tasks including scheduling, budgeting, and documentation
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
  • 2–5 years of professional experience in architectural design, preferably in commercial projects
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite; Rhino and Enscape experience a plus
  • Strong understanding of building systems, materials, and construction methods
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Milwaukee’s urban context and regulatory environment is preferred
  • LEED accreditation or progress toward licensure is a plus
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
