ResponsibilitiesAs a Laborer/Groundman, you are responsible for providing general labor for aerial and underground construction projects. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.In addition, you will:
- Be responsible for various manual tasks such as digging trenches, unloading building materials, and preparing job sites with use of hand tools like shovels, rakes, and picks
- Perform fiber blowing operations as directed, assisting in the installation of fiber optic cable in conduits using fiber-blowing equipment
- Conduct general labor on construction sites
- Conduct placement of conduit as directed by Foreman or Supervisor
- Be involved in map reading and directions
- Support with trench digging and closing
- Support with the movement of materials and vehicles as directed by Foreman or Supervisor
- Conduct maintenance services as directed by Foreman to include: Cleanup, Wash Vehicles, Landscaping
- Perform all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment
- Be involved with vehicle and equipment operations from trucks to other equipment as directed and certified
- Tow various trailers with flatbed trucks
- Conduct Aerial/Underground work as needed and directed and as trained
- Troubleshoot RF and Fiber line and or equipment issues
- Construct and repair underground RF and Fiber service
- Learn how to read and construct from a design schematic of map
- Learn all inventory and equipment required for these projects
- As applicable, learn and be certified on the use of equipment: Line truck, Bucket truck, Cable Reel equipment, Saws and drills
- Climb poles with climbing equipment safely
- Move and relocate RF and Fiber service
- Be familiar with NESC (National Electrical Safety Commission) safety guidelines

- You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
- You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work
- You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your team
- You have the ability and desire to learn and understand maps, drawings, diagrams, and other industry related knowledge for the project build process
- You have a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record for the past 3 years
- You can lift and carry up to 70 lbs
- You have 1 year of practical working experience in construction, preferably in the telecom industry or similar
- You have 1 year working in full-time, outdoor roles
- CDL preferred or ability to obtain it within 120 days
