Job Description:OverviewThis role encompasses technical and creative approaches in planning, communication and execution of culinary product development work by translating consumer tensions and problems to solve into product designs by applying trends, culinary expertise, and understanding of food culture. More specifically, leading work to support the expanding the Away From Home business and Meal category for billion-dollar brands, including Lay’s, Doritos, Cheetos, and many more for PepsiCo Foods North America. In addition, the job holder in this position will collaborate with the broader Global Culinary Team to build best-in-class culinary capabilities.
Responsibilities
  • Provide culinary executional support for Annual Operation Planning and Multi-year Pipelines for PepsiCo Food North America Away from Home and Meals.
  • Partner with Product Development, Sales, and Marketing to understand customer and business needs, as well as back-of-house operations, ingredients pantry, supply chain, and other desirability, feasibility, and viability inputs and constraints to consider when proposing culinary solutions.
  • Lead generation of compelling & creative product prototypes to illustrate technical possibilities to build business and stakeholder interest/alignment and steer development direction.
  • Understand, design, and apply insights from consumer research, concept, and product testing to deliver agenda, partnering closely with Sensory & Consumer Experience.
  • Apply trends and food culture fundamentals and translate consumer needs into meaningful solutions by developing and articulating key product attributes.
  • Asses preliminary technical capability of concepts or ideas under evaluation with customers.
  • Interface with External culinary-led Suppliers, Seasoning Houses, Flavour Experts, Universities, etc.
  • Drive ingredient transformation through creative culinary techniques/cooking methodologies/new product forms
  • Conduct active culinary explorations: cookbook library, cuisines, ingredients, cooking methods, trends, external influences, menu analysis, market, and food tours/immersions.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $72,500 - $121,300 based on a full-time schedule.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred to be most effective in this role.
  • Professional degree in Culinary Arts and a fundamental understanding of trends, ingredients, culinary techniques, and integration into product development, as well as a fundamental working knowledge of food & nutrition science.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to incorporate business needs into culinary stimuli and design targets with a mind to understand process and product feasibility, ability to manage multiple assignments/ tasks, strong communication skills, and drive to dig deeper from an intellectual curiosity and creativity standpoint. Knows the business cold, strategic thinker, out of the box creativity, effective in communicating, influencing, and collaborating.
  • Experience working in/with Food Service and Away From Home Businesses is highly preferred.
