As a Shipping Clerk at GEA Group, you will play a key role in ensuring our products are shipped accurately, on time, and in compliance with all regulations. You’ll coordinate with warehouse staff, carriers, and various internal departments to manage schedules, prepare documentation, and resolve shipping-related issues. Your efforts will directly contribute to our commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.Key Responsibilities
- Shipping Management: Schedule, route, and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery according to customer requirements.
- Documentation & Compliance: Prepare bills of lading, packing slips, and customs paperwork while ensuring adherence to shipping regulations and company policies.
- Inventory Coordination: Collaborate with warehouse staff for accurate picking, packing, labeling, and monitoring of inventory levels to avoid shortages or delays.
- Carrier & Vendor Liaison: Communicate with freight companies, third-party logistics providers, and carriers to arrange transportation, negotiate rates, and resolve shipping issues.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve delays, damaged goods, or incorrect deliveries with corrective actions and clear communication.
- Reporting & Analysis: Generate and analyze shipping performance reports to identify trends and process improvement opportunities.
- Customer Service: Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding shipment status, tracking information, and delivery concerns.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline shipping procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in warehouse operations, including use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Strong adherence to safety protocols in all equipment operation and material handling.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and order processing software.
- Accurate data entry and record-keeping skills.
- Clear communication abilities—both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot minor process or equipment issues.
- Flexibility to assist in other warehouse areas as needed.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to achieving goals.
