All personnel and maintenance staff, including distributor and dealer personnel, undergo continuous safety, technical, and maintenance training.POSITION DESCRIPTION:The Service Technician will be based out of their place of residence. This position will be required to perform field service functions of maintaining, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and refurbishing of equipment installed in industrial applications such as power plants, cement plants, bridges, etc. Must have; strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, knowledge of electric/mechanical theory, and excellent customer service skills. Will drive equipped service vehicle with parts inventory and travel to customer locations to deliver service. Will drive the service vehicle home after work. Must be drug-free, have a clean driving record, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and have good work references. Must be able to work flexible hours and overnight travel will be required. Prior elevator experience is highly valued. Full-time position with benefits.Physical Requirements:Possess the physical ability to climb all structure types, where rack and pinion elevators are installed, in a safe manner, lift 80lbs, work in heat and cold, outside, at extreme heights, and in enclosed spaces as well. Sit, stand, walk, reach, lift, bend, squat, kneel, and drive for lengthy, extended periods.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include the following, other duties may be assigned.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools electrical meters, interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, properly complete paperwork, utilize computer software, and online service system, eagerness to learn, learn, and demonstrate safe work practices.
- Ability to travel which requires overnight, extended stays, and work inconsistent hours.
- Attends customer and company-required safety and continuing education, orientation, and site-specific classes, and provides drug test results when required.
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner in all communications and dealings with customers and company personnel.
- Maintain adequate communication with the service manager and office.
- Suggests/recommends areas within the department to improve efficiency and cost. ? Fulfills any additional requirements, which the service manager deems necessary and are in the best interest of the company. ? Assists others and works well in a team.
- Be able to perform field service functions of examining, troubleshooting, repair, and refurbishment of rack & pinion elevators.
