- Learn our product portfolio and become a developer on one of our product lines.
- Be part of an active development team working on a next generation product line.
- Secondary duties may include assisting with designing/developing sub-systems and features in Software Development.
- Use your course related skills in Java, C or C++ to design, develop and test software.
- Successfully integration of the GE Cloud DevOps tools into the existing GE MDS CI/CD process (ex: python robotframework supporting GE end-to-end functional Software System Regression Automation).
- As part of the development process, follows engineering processes, practices, and procedures.
- Report progress and status to project management.
- Perform rough estimates of time required to implement features and resolve issues, helping with task prioritization process.
- Work on an assignment / project within the engineering & technology; to stretch your learning and skillset.
- Must be highly self-motivated and be able to work under minimal supervision
- Use your academic knowledge to complete assigned project(s), deliver customer outcomes and improve the operation of our business.
- Learn and utilize software development techniques for disciplined design rigor.
- Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in a technical field of study in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT.
- Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).
- Experience in Computer and Networking administration (ex: Linux, Windows).
- Experience in software development and revision control, such as git/GitHub.
- Ability to follow formal software design principles and development processes.
- Experience in python script development.
- Experience in Linux bash and Windows Batch scripts.
- Some knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, SSH, HTTP, DHCP
- Working understanding of JIRA, Confluence (or equivalent tools).
- Working understanding of physical network topologies and Ethernet bridging.
- Some knowledge of Git.
- Proficient in programming, Java, C++, C.
- Experience creating Web UIs.

- Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
