Your leadership will directly enable Submer to deliver next-generation data center solutions, accelerate the adoption of sustainable cooling practices, and solidify our position at the forefront of high-performance, environmentally responsible infrastructure.We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of our immersion cooling systems for high-performance computing and data center applications. The ideal candidate will have design and hands-on experience with advanced thermal management technologies for data center applications.What you’ll do
- Design and optimize single-phase and two-phase immersion cooling solution for electronics and high-power devices.
- Research and evaluate new materials, fluids, and system components to enhance cooling efficiency and system durability.
- Lead thermal characterization and testing of cold plates under varying heat loads and fluid conditions, ensuring efficient heat transfer and system reliability.
- Analyze and simulate thermal performance using CFD tools such as FloEFD and Ansys Fluent, and validate designs with experimental data.
- Develop and execute test plans, oversee laboratory testing, and generate detailed technical documentation and reports.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to lead prototype builds, production transfer, and quality control.
- Contribute to system-level architecture studies, including fluid selection, flow control and optimization, and reliability assessments.
- Ensure compliance with safety, reliability, and environmental standards related to immersion cooling systems.
- Support root cause analysis and develop corrective actions for any failures or performance shortfalls.
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in thermal/fluid systems design, with a focus on single-phase, two-phase immersion cooling and boiling/evaporation heat transfer.
- Hands-on experience with cold plate design and CDU integration.
- Proficiency with thermal and fluid modeling tools (e.g., FloEFD, ANSYS, Multiphysics, or similar). Experience with phase-change modeling is a plus.
- Familiarity with two-phase refrigerants, fluorochemical fluids, or hydrocarbon working fluids.
- Experience with thermal performance testing, data acquisition, and analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of driving thermal innovation in complex systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
