The Regional-Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager will provide strategic leadership and technical expertise to ensure regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance across 2–5 supply chain facilities. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and training initiatives that align with both regional and company-wide objectives. With a focus on achieving world-class safety standards, the position will guide the execution of EHS initiatives, support site-level compliance, and ensure the effective management and certification of EHS management systems (e.g., RC14001, ISO14001, ISO45001, ANSI Z10) across the assigned locations.Responsibilities Include
- Implement, coach, and provide support to covered facilities (2-5) in management system execution, auditing, local process development/updates, written programs, and training topics. Conduct RCAs for management system findings.
- Educate and guide covered facilities (2-5) regarding safety culture Initiatives and gain their buy-in as it relates to the promotion of positive reinforcement of safe behaviors, shared ownership of safety process, and active employee involvement in region.
- Partner with covered facilities (2-5) to establish and execute annual EHS targets and objectives; track/analyze local regulatory changes and provide local direction on compliance issues; track/analyze injury/illness trends.
- Partner with covered facilities (2-5) to ensure compliance to facility sustainability and environmental permits/processes.
- Lead and conduct detailed hazard assessments for a variety of initiatives; identify and recommend appropriate risk control measures; lead and assist sites in conducting effective root cause analyses for incidents and trends.
- Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline Global from time to time in its sole discretion
- 4-year degree in safety, science or engineering or equivalent (i.e. business management, criminology, etc.)
- 5+ years in EHS
- In-depth experience of OSHA regulations and requirements
- Displays strong interpersonal skills and is accessible and approachable
- Ability to utilize business sense and creativity to develop new ideas, approaches and solutions
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, cost analysis and budgeting, people management, and leadership guidance
- Ability to utilize and train employees on technology, processes and procedures across multiple locations
- Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams, and to communicate difficult issues
- Experience in managing/handling compliance issues, permitting for all media, OSHA/EPA programs, regulatory reviews, permit preparation, reporting and record keeping.
- Experience in evaluating/interpreting OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations and NFPA, ANSI, ASTM, ASME standards
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams.
- Knowledge of comprehensive EHS management systems such as RC14001, ISO45001, or ANSI Z10

- ASP, GSP, CSP, CIH, CHMM, CEAS, or OHST
- Experience with Federal, State and local Worker’s Compensation law
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
