Our Client, a Healthcare company, is looking for multiple Surgical Technicians for direct hire at their Peoria, IL location.Responsibilities:
Scrubs for procedures according to established aseptic technique guidelines.
Procedures include but are not limited to pediatrics, thoracic, transplant, organ procurement, vascular, interventional radiology, orthopedics, gynecology, robotic, EENT, plastics, dental, urology, oncology, laser, and trauma.
Collects all necessary supplies, instruments, implants, hardware, opens and maintains sterile environment, sets up back table and mayo stand, counts all necessary items according to procedure.
Assists surgeons intra-operatively with routine and complex surgical procedures including scrubbing, draping, passing instruments, sponges, sutures, and other supplies and equipment to surgeons, holding retractors, first assisting, assisting in clean-up after a case, sterilizing instruments in preparation for a case or contaminated instruments, etc.
Anticipates and responds to the surgeons’ needs during the course of the surgery.
Receives surgical specimens, preserves specimen accordingly and notifies circulating nurse of the specimen type and source.
Requirements:
Requires a minimum of four months intra-operative orientation and on-the-job training to learn department/unit policies, procedures and work routines; to develop proficiency in the use of medical equipment and instruments used in the operating room; to learn quality/safety standards; and to gain an understanding of the types of surgical procedures, including traumas.
