
Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor - Construction Management

- Manage cost services across the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction through close-out.
- Advise clients on procurement strategies, vendor prequalification, bid evaluation, and appointment processes.
- Support the development of cost plans, budgets, and estimates for real estate and other sector projects.
- Prepare and review cost reports, forecasts, and budget tracking documents.
- Assess payment applications and change orders, and provide recommendations to clients.
- Monitor invoicing and ensure accurate financial documentation.
- Assist in benchmarking project performance and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Participate in final accounting, post-contract audits, and close-out processes.
- Contribute to post-project reviews and documentation of lessons learned.
- Prepare and maintain cost management tools such as Bid Analysis Sheets, Cost Estimating Software, and Take-off Software.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure alignment on cost-related matters.
- Support financial reporting for internal and client-facing presentations.
- Help maintain and update cost databases and benchmarking tools.
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications for cost analysis.
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in construction cost management.
- RICS accreditation or working toward it is a plus.
- Experience supporting medium to large-scale construction projects.
- Strong preference for candidates with consultancy experience.
- Familiarity with various procurement routes and value engineering practices.
- Proficiency in cost estimating and project management software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, Excel).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial documentation.
- Understanding of contract structures and commercial terms.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
