With a flexible schedule and excellent benefits including options for free healthcare, we hope you will consider joining our growing team.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESOperating from a peer support and mentorship stance, provide life skills coaching for New Path residents both in the community and in their residence, individually and in group format. Potential life skills include apartment cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, basic cooking, budgeting, and others needed to increase resident independence and/or housing stability.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Successful clearance of Department of Health and Welfare criminal background check.
  • Basic understanding of homelessness and various characteristics of homeless adult population.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations in a nonjudgmental way.
  • Ability and willingness to engage with individuals in their current stage of change, expressed knowledge, acceptance and/or experience with principles of harm reduction.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as part of team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Two or more years experience in the field of alcoholism, substance use disorders and mental health.
  • Knowledge of computer and email systems, as well as EHR.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Peer Support Specialist training and certification.
