- Function as the stores Loss Prevention Coordinator to proactively detect and prevent losses.
- Analyze shrink/loss data to identify and track problem areas and trends.
- Review and monitor process controls and audits and identify problem areas or procedural deficiencies.
- In partnership with store management, teach, train and coach associates in loss prevention protocols and techniques as well as use of equipment and technologies.
- Oversee EAS system operation and coordinate on maintenance and compliance.
- Advise Store Managers and Loss Prevention on policy and procedure violations.
- Assist store management team with the implementation and adherence of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and all company policies and procedures. Report all issues to Loss Prevention.
- Watch for and recognize potential theft, and take appropriate steps to prevent, report, or handle these situations.
- Recognize safety and security risks and remedy the situation and alert proper personnel.
- Monitor and audit cash handling processes and procedures. Conduct random counts of safe and tills.
- Assist store management with the stores key control, authorized access areas, alarm logs, and physical security.
- Perform counts and verify inventory: Moving Targets and Cycle Counts
- Obtain moving targets list from Loss Prevention on a weekly basis.
- Physically check accuracy of counts on each item on the moving target list.
- Research as needed and note reason for variances; track and file all major discrepancies for audit by Loss Prevention.
- Obtain department count lists from Loss Prevention monthly.
- Break down the list by department; assign the department list to the lead and assist in counting inventory as able.
- Research as needed on large discrepancies.
- Correct PIP to reflect actual product availability on all counts.
- Obtain negative count lists daily when possible, minimum of twice per week; reconcile discrepancies and PIP as needed to reflect actual quantity availability.
- Active Inventory Management (AIM)
- Ensure inventory counts are adjusted properly using PIP process.
- Understand all PIP types.
- Utilize appropriate PIP according to each individual situation for optimal tracking.
- PIP inventory accordingly to reflect actual product availability
- Verify correct price and SKU on signage and labels as product is counted.
- Notify department leads with any tagging discrepancies that need to be addressed.
- Verify zero counts on empty bins and pegs near items that are counted.
- Other Duties as assigned including:
- Provide position specific Loss Prevention training to new hires.
- Provide ongoing training to store teams based on discovered trends and observed practices regarding Loss Prevention and inventory handling processes and procedures.
- Assist in educating and maintaining store wide standards in safety and security.
- Assist customers while conducting all assigned duties.
