Work performed may involve voltages from 69KV to 500KV.Alternative days and hours may be required (Tuesday - Saturday) per LOMA (3/12/2008)Minimum Requirements:
  • High School diploma or G. E. D.
  • Completed a Registered Journeyman Lineman Apprenticeship Program or an equivalent training program (as approved by APS T&D Technical & Safety Training) PLUS one year experience as a Journeyman Lineman**
  • Must possess a valid manual transmission Commercial Driver's License (Class “A”) with ability to meet all DOT requirements
  • In-town crew
  • Must live within reasonable distance (one (1) hour) of headquarters.
  • Experience working on all types of distribution lines including 4kv to 21kv and all related equipment required
  • Requires working with aerial equipment, which has weight restrictions of 300 pounds or less
  • Must pass written and hands-on exam and successfully demonstrate climbing skills
  • Necessary overtime work will be required
  • The established headquarters for this position is subject to relocation to the Hub West Service Center, a facility that will be located 38 miles west of downtown Phoenix, on a date to be determined by the Company.

*Registered Apprenticeship Program Criteria: Program must have a documented process for hours worked in the field in the work processes associated with the craft e.g. distribution, transmission, maintenance, etc. Registered apprenticeship programs for the trades in question require 7,000 - 10,000 hours (3 -5 years). Program must have documented proof of completion of related education classroom courses. Registered apprenticeship programs require a minimum of 144 hours per year of related education courses during the course of the apprenticeship program** Journeyman level experience must be documented in writing if you are unable to provide us a certificate of completion of Registered Apprenticeship. This will require a letter on company letterhead documenting your title, details of your roles and responsibilities, and length of time in that position. It must be signed by an operations or HR manager.
