Learn more atCFD Research Corporation is expanding our team providing proposal and administrative support to our research staff. This position will work closely with Contracts and the Divisions developing, assembling and submitting proposals to various customers including DOD, NIH, FDA, NASA, and commercial customers. In addition to proposal support, the position will provide some administrative functions as well, including presentation preparation, report submittals, and other tasks as needed.The position will allow a candidate exposure to multiple tasks covering a broad spectrum of our core business areas. As part of our proposal process, the candidate will work with technical staff in the preparation and submission of proposals and required reporting to government and commercial customers. As the customer(s) releases research topics and other types of solicitations, the Proposal Specialist will work to coordinate CFD Research's interested researchers, including supporting an analysis of the RFP requirements in order to track our efforts in answer the solicitation with a compliant proposal. The coordinator will organize and coordinate proposal resources, including project management and technical team input through the various gate reviews, provide administrative support to the proposal managers, assist with graphics development, conduct quality reviews, and ensures completion of all assignments and adherence to internal best practices and proposal processes (including documentation on SharePoint). As needed, the candidate will provide technical writing expertise to proposal efforts. The technical writing piece could range from using technical documents to construct concise paragraphs for specifics topics to editing complex white papers prior to submittal.As mentioned, the candidate will provide graphic design support, including creation of posters, drawings and diagrams to be used in proposals. This is a particular value-added capability this position can provide both to the research proposal process as well as the entire organization.The successful candidate will be detail oriented and develop an understanding (and expertise) in our processes. The candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment closely supporting engineers and scientists. The ability to effectively organize and manage multiple tasks, while maintaining a high level of accuracy, is critical to success. In addition, the candidate needs to demonstrate effective communication ability, both in terms of written correspondence for customers as well as keeping internal staff informed and engaged.Requirements:
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen
  • 2 years of experience developing technical documents (proposals, presentations, etc.)
  • Experience working on technical proposals, either writing or editing
  • Candidate must have expertise in graphics formatting used for technical proposals or papers
  • Candidate must demonstrate expertise in the following programs: MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Page Maker, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and MS Excel
Preferred Experience:
  • Candidate with a Bachelor's Degree in English, Technical Writing, or similar
