Job Responsibilities:Perform inspections, test alarms, and troubleshoot or document any issues in commercial facilities. Technician will also respond to emergency service calls and ensure the systems comply with relevant codes and regulations. Applicants for this position should have a minimum of their NICET level II or higher certification. Licensed EL06 in Washington State. You should also be knowledgeable about NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72.Requirements
  • Knowledgeable in the life safety/security industry.
  • Ensures compliance with all cities, state and federal regulations as applicable to service, installation, and maintenance of all systems including OSHA safety standards.
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents including plans and specifications.
  • Proven analytical thinking and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Client-driven people skills and proven ability to build long term customer relationships.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background, and reference check.
  • WA State EL-06 Journeyman License.
  • NICET II or higher.
  • Seattle FA-1 Certificate
  • Valid State Driver’s License.
Responsibilities
  • Installs, repairs, tests, and handles the maintenance of projects as assigned.
  • Serves as first point of contact with internal and external customers as it relates to fire alarm service calls, and scheduling with applicable authorities.
  • Reviews bids for quality control purposes and recommends requirements to management.
  • Reports deficiencies in a timely and effective manner.
  • Provides customer training as required.
  • Performs on-call duties as outlined and as required by contract obligations and management.
  • Expedites and ensures accuracy with all service, testing, inspection correspondence, work orders, and other associated paperwork.
  • Carries out administrative duties as needed to perform projects to completion.
  • Provides customer service and represents Red Hawk Fire Protection in a professional manner.
  • Ensures compliance with all city, state, and federal regulations as applicable to service, installation, and maintenance of all systems including OSHA safety standards.
  • Maintains vehicle, uniform, and tools per policy.
  • Accurately completes all paperwork directly related to service orders and projects.
  • Installs conduit as necessary.
  • Trains customers on the usage of all applicable products for installation and/or upgrades.
  • Travels as necessary within the Puget Sound area.
  • Maintains a professional appearance at all times.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned within qualifications.
Essential skills
  • Strong organization skills, good email and phone etiquette, prioritizing, ability to communicate precisely.
  • Knowledgeable in programs like Word, Excel, and email applications like Mac mail or Outlook.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace, fire alarm and security industry experience.
  • Must be able to pass a drug and background check.
Working ConditionsExpected working hours and conditions are as follows:7:00am – 3:30pm Monday thru Friday.Willing to be on rotating on-call for after hour emergenciesPhysical RequirementsRepetitive tasks including, but not limited to:Lifting 50-75 lbs., walking up and down flights of stairs, climbing ladders, prolonged standingSalary Range: $35.00-$55.00 per hour Depending on ExperienceVehicle, Company card, basic toolsMedical, Dental, VisionPaid Time Off: 80 hours annual accrual with 40 hours upon completion of 90-day probationary periodHoliday: 8 Paid Holidays401K-4% Match
