Planning, coordinating and interpreting quantitative and qualitative consumer research activities.
- To lead Hygiene Consumer Product Evaluation related project to aid in the product development process, in particular to select a lead product consumer methodology option; in order to determine drivers of liking, and identify product outperformance/superiority of new product developments.
- To drive insights based on a strong understanding of consumer behaviour and category dynamics translating into meaningful product measures enabling the R&D team to design products for maximum success on shelf and in home.
- To apply/execute best-in-class consumer research methods, and potentially implement new ones, to generate new insights into consumer unmet needs.This role strategically partners with R&D, I&A and CDO innovation teams to design the right consumer product research to answer key business questions and identify key superiority opportunities. They provide insightful and Reckitt relevant data/insights to enable business growth. They support the pipeline development through generating and interpreting data on consumers' opinions and behaviours, underpinning technical product development and presenting to key stakeholders and peers.Objectives:
· Design, execute and manage quantitative and qualitative consumer research studies (i.e. focus groups, 1:1 interviews, ethnography, online surveys etc.), to produce actionable consumer insights and meet the required standards, project objectives and agreed timelines.
· To proactively identify and trial new consumer sensory research approaches and methodologies to gain and explore superior and emerging behaviours and insights.
· To build and manage efficient and productive local, consumer or employee panels to give the Reckitt community access to consumers in the relevant regions.
· To develop and execute capabilities in support of Reckitt initiatives in:
o Prototype evaluation and proof of performance feedback
o Exploratory and qualitative methodologies for deep diving of unmet consumer needs
o Sensory evaluation of developmental or marketed products
· To identify, form and manage productive relationships with appropriate third parties with value added external consumer capability.
· To ensure that all consumer work complies with Consumer Research codes of best practice and that data protection requirement are adhered to.
· To promote and maintain a safe working environment through compliance with established company and regulatory policies.
· To actively participate in the development and implementation of best practices across the CPI team

· To act as the SME of consumer research and sensory methodologies for the CPI teamQualifications
- BS/BA degree in a related science and 8 years' experience, or MS degree in a related science and 5 years' experience, or PhD in a related science and 3 years' relevant experience in Personal Care and/or Surface Care
- Significant experience within FMCG or consumer health companies in product categories where consumer science makes up an important part of product development.
- Strong experience and background in a key CPI team skill field including designing and conducting qualitative and quantitative consumer research studies (CLTs, HUTs, FG, interviews, workshops, co-creation, data correlations).
- Able to effectively translate technology opportunities into winning consumer propositions. The drive to take an idea from conception through to realization.
- Experience in insight generation and deep consumer understanding, consumer segmentation and concept development amongst others, working closely with external partners to deliver.
- Ability to integrate sensory and consumer methods into research plans, integrate data and draw conclusions that could generate motivating concepts in line with brand strategy.
