The HR Coordinator is an essential part of the Office Administration team, responsible for a wide range of HR functions, including benefits administration, performance management, and compliance with employment laws. This role demands a highly organized, service-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and a deep commitment to promoting diversity and a positive workplace culture.Core Responsibilities:
- Benefits Administration: Administer and communicate the company's benefits programs to employees, addressing inquiries and assisting with claim issues.
- Performance Management: Support the implementation of performance management processes, including assisting managers in the development of performance improvement plans and recognition strategies.
- Recruitment and Staffing: Lead recruitment efforts, from posting job openings to managing the interview process and conducting new hire orientations. Ensure staffing strategies align with organizational needs.
- Compliance and Employment Law: Ensure the organization's compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding employment, including updating policies, conducting trainings, and advising management on legal risks.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns and grievances. Facilitate conflict resolution and maintain a positive work environment.
- HR Records Management: Maintain accurate and confidential HR files and databases, ensuring all employee records are kept up-to-date and in compliance with legal requirements.
- Compensation and Wage Structure: Assist in the analysis and maintenance of the organization's compensation structure to ensure competitiveness and equity.
- Diversity and Inclusion: Promote diversity within the workforce by implementing inclusive recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies.
- Policy Development and Documentation: Assist in the development and updating of HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are clearly communicated to employees.
- Safety and Wellness: Support the development and implementation of health and safety initiatives and wellness programs to promote employee well-being.
- HR Analytics: Utilize HR metrics to generate reports and insights for decision-making and to identify trends in recruitment, turnover, and other areas.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-6 years of experience in an HR role, demonstrating a broad understanding of human resources functions. Experience in a small or medium-sized firm is preferred but not mandatory.
- Certifications: HR certification or continuing education (e.g., SHRM-CP or PHR) is preferred but not required.
- Legal Compliance: Knowledge of current federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken. Additional language skills are a plus but not required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with QuickBooks is an advantage.
- License: Valid state driver’s license for any potential travel between company sites or to attend relevant HR conferences or workshops.
