- Project Scope Management: Oversee the execution of the project scope of work, ensuring all activities align with project specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements.
- Scheduling: Develop, monitor, and update project schedules to ensure timely completion of milestones and deliverables. Coordinate suppliers and other stakeholders to align schedules and resources.
- On-Site Construction Management: Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities, including steel erection, rigging, welding, and bolting, ensuring compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and project plans.
- Team Leadership: Manage and motivate on-site teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and protocols, conducting regular site inspections and safety meetings to maintain a safe working environment.
- Quality Control: Ensure all work meets quality standards and specifications, coordinating with quality assurance teams to address any issues promptly.
- Resource Management: Oversee the allocation and utilization of materials, equipment, and labor to optimize productivity and minimize waste.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for on-site activities, liaising with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to provide updates and resolve issues.
- Problem Resolution: Identify and address challenges or conflicts that arise during construction, implementing effective solutions to keep the project on track.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress reports, and any changes to the project scope or schedule.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in a structural steel/fabrication environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of structural steel construction processes, including erection techniques, welding standards, and safety regulations.
- Certifications: OSHA 30 certified and familiarity with AISC regulations.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage multiple subcontractors effectively.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with stakeholders and document project progress.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and resolve issues efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) and basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and navigate active construction sites.
- Capability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and other structures as needed for inspections.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally.
- Full-time position with overtime required to meet deadlines.
- Work primarily takes place on construction sites, with exposure to outdoor conditions and construction hazards.
- Travel is required to project locations.
