Job Title: Phlebotomist II Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist II to join our team, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The primary role of a Phlebotomist II is to assist in performing various duties, troubleshoot issues, provide training, and offer workflow recommendations.Responsibilities
  • Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge specimens.
  • Record maintenance data and decontaminate areas as needed.
  • Update and maintain patient information accurately.
  • Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
  • Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
  • Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles.
  • Comprehend and execute all physicians' orders accurately.
  • Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
  • Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
  • Ensure correct test requisitions or computer labels against scripts.
  • Package specimens for transport, maintaining specimen integrity.
  • Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
  • Attend annual department training sessions.
  • Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results.
Essential Skills
  • Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
  • Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of experience in phlebotomy or related field.
  • Skills in blood draw, venipuncture, and patient care.
  • Experience with specimen collection and butterfly needle technique.
  • Strong customer service and data entry skills.
Work EnvironmentThe position operates in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting, requiring adherence to safety and compliance regulations. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a structured work week.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Aurora, Colorado.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
