
Manual Machinist

- Makes all set-ups on tooling and machine.
- Able to run all manual lathe and manual mills in the shop efficiently.
- Machining parts in a low volume/high mix shop.
- Machines from prints and can make from samples.
- Able to machine from bar stock and raw castings.
- Threading knowledge and 4 Jaw Chuck knowledge needed.
- Re-machine parts to repair them and still maintain critical dimensions.
- Maintains excellent housekeeping standards.
- Participates in Safety, Quality and Activities Committees (if applicable).
- Final inspection and completion of inspection report.
- Signing and documenting date compliance sheets.
- Adherence to all safety, quality, company rules and regulations.
- Overnight travel required.
- Must be willing to work on site at customer facilities.
- Lift objects weighing up to 40lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Turning and twisting while lifting or moving.
- Navigate/climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding at client and customer sites. Often times at least 10- 30 feet in the air and sometimes higher.
- 5+ years of hands-on machining experience within fast-paced manufacturing settings.
- Professional communication, interpersonal and customer relations skills are a must.
- Strong teamwork skills with a proven ability to collaborate optimally in dynamic environments.
- Experience in the process control industry and/or valve repairs is preferred.
- Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process related problems is strongly preferred.
