This position is for a recognized Systems Engineering master. Leads the development of work methods, develops overall systems strategy, provides support and guidance to various technical teams, and approves common work practices.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Recognized technical expert in the most important, complex, or difficult projects.
  • Designs and manages complex engineering systems over their life cycles.
  • Establishes plans and strategy for requirements management, reliability, logistics, coordination of different teams, evaluation measurements, and other disciplines for large or complex projects.
  • Coordinates control engineering, industrial engineering, organizational studies, and project management.
  • Ensures that all likely aspects of a project or system are considered, and integrated into a whole.
  • Monitors budgets, cost, effectiveness, and reliability of activities and make recommendations to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and ensure that standards are met.
  • Recommends investments or changes in technology, resources, procedures, equipment, systems, or other assets to improve the quality of the organization’s projects.
  • Provides expertise in the decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, and makes recommendations for the generation of verification criteria and plans for the requirements.
  • Performs analysis at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
  • Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Considers and evaluates alternatives accounting for similar metrics.
  • Manages configuration process, performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Performs architectural exploration.
  • Decomposes customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, and generates verification criteria and plans for the requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience OR
  • Advance degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a US Person
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
