Responsibilities:Essential Functions
- Demonstrates ability to appropriately treat patients according to professional standards of practice.
- Implements treatment and modifies accordingly.
- Provides patient/family/caregiver training as appropriate.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned
- Demonstrates the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to
departmental policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates competency in the use, care, and maintenance of profession specific equipment, observing safety precautions and
- Communicates with the team on the patient’s progress and needs verbally, and by preparing written documentation as required by
- Communicates input for discharge planning to the therapist.
- Ensures accurate billing.
- Adheres to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Participates in Performance Improvement, program development, assigned committees, safety, and infection control as
- Demonstrates an awareness of legal issues, patient rights and compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
- Attends rehab meetings, inservices, and any patient care meetings that are required for the assignment.
- Practices efficient use and selection of su Qualifications:
Graduate from approved college with an associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.Licensure/Certification
Current license in the State of Alabama as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. Continuing education as required by State
Practice Act. Maintain current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.Experience
