The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and validation of mechanical assemblies associated with the development and manufacturing of computer servers. The Mechanical Engineer analyzes complex technical problems and implements cost effective solutions.Responsibilities
- Design & validate modifications to existing ZT products. Manage ECO (Engineering Change Order) process effectively
- Analyze and solve technical problems/issues and provide solutions that can be implemented in a timely matter
- Direct and coordinate prototype manufacturing and field installation/retrofit activities to ensure products confirm to engineering design and customer specifications
- Produce engineering documents including design drawings, installation manuals, etc.
- Assist procurement team to identify and manage 3rd-party vendors
- Work effectively in a multi-function engineering development team and engage customers and suppliers directly to discuss and interpret mechanical solution requirements
- Assists development and systems engineering as required when working tactical/time-to-market development issues
- Participates as required in strategic initiatives for improvements in process, quality, and cost
- MS office - word, excel, PowerPoint
- Good knowledge of metals and alloys and their properties
- Thorough understanding of ECO (Engineering Change Order) process
- SolidWorks skills highly desirable
- Computer industry knowledge highly preferred
- Packaging design ability highly desirable
- Vibration test design and analysis ability highly desirable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good analytical hands on skill
- Strong written and verbal presentation and communication skills required
- Collaborative, flexible and adaptable
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 1-2+ years of intern or professional experience with mechanical and structural design
- Internship or work experience in design and analysis preferred
