https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVzigMweYvoJob DescriptionThe Presales Engineer will oversee presales opportunities and development of complex projects, managing all stages of the projects from scope definition through project closure. The Presales Engineer is the architect and owner of solutions proposed to our public safety customers. They are responsible for working closely with the Sales team to deliver customer driven, world class, leading edge, end-to-end solutions that rise to the challenges of first responder agencies. The role encompasses the development, construction, evaluation, and refinement of system solutions and architectures to align with specific client demands. The Presales team concentrates on the following mission-critical communications technologies at various levels of complexity: Public Safety grade mobile/portable voice and data networks, Advanced Mobile devices, Public Safety mobile broadband networks and devices (LTE), Integrated Command & Control: 9-1-1 Dispatch Consoles, Mobile Video, Cybersecurity, and more.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Radio coverage design and analysisGenerating equipment listsDescribing system designs, including creating diagramsUnderstanding customer requirementsCalculating power and networking requirementsParticipating in proposal reviews and contract negotiationsProviding consultative guidance to customers and the sales teamDelivering presentations to customersCoordinating with various functional teams to address business unit goals in proposals and win-strategiesDeveloping implementation approaches and service plans to win competitive projectsMeeting/exceeding customer requirements and suggesting value alternatives when requirements cannot be metManaging solutions to meet sales, revenue and margin goalsDriving sole source & RFP (Request for Proposal) projects to completionCollaborating with project team members in the development of proposed solutionsWorking with third-party vendors to develop fully integrated solutionsQualifications:Bachelor of Science degree preferred; Desired emphasis in Electrical, Wireless, Computer, Network Engineering or Computer ScienceSeeking 4+ years of experience in sales engineering and/or solutions architectureStrong general knowledge of wireless communications fundamentals and voice/data architectures - both public and private (e.g. APCO P25, LTE, 802.11, 3G/4G) highly desirableStrong general knowledge of IP networking architecture, protocols and security highly desirableKnowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) coverage predictions, traffic/capacity modeling, and related toolsets an assetStrong written and oral communications skills with the ability to present complex topics to technical and non-technical audiencesAbility to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersWillingness to think out of the box and challenge the status quoAttention to detail and a flawless execution mindsetTarget Base Salary Range: 90,000 - $115,000 USDConsistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
