This role involves significant interaction with suppliers to ensure product excellence and adherence to technical standards.Required Skills & Qualifications
MUST HAVE : Good amount of experience with heavy steel metal fabrication and welding NICE TO HAVE : Certified welding inspector (CWI) certification
- Applicants must be able to work directly on a W2 basis.
- 8-10 years of experience in supplier quality evaluation and management.
- Proficiency in conducting supplier evaluations, audits, and technical sign-offs.
- Experience in design reviews, tool kick-offs, and tool development tracking.
- Familiarity with heavy engineering products and processes, including forging, casting, machining, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Knowledge of material standards, AWS welding standards, and ability to read complex engineering prints.
- Exposure to sheet metal design and manufacturing, GDT, and design for manufacturing concepts.
- Experience with supplier quality engineering related to heavy machinery.
- Conduct primary evaluations and PCPA audits for suppliers.
- Oversee technical sign-offs and manage APQP implementation.
- Develop and execute risk assessments and mitigation plans.
- Lead design reviews and tool development processes.
- Review and execute fixtures, gauges, and tool readiness.
- Manage tool trials and parts fitment reports, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure safe launch, PSW sign-off, and smooth SOP ramp-up.
- Enhance supplier performance to achieve excellence in delivery.
- Travel approximately 40% to various supplier locations.
