
Senior Principal Software Engineer - Computing Products (Onsite)

- Serve as the engineering project leader for programs developing Avionics products, including coordinating hardware, software, and firmware scope to meet program commitments.
- Serve as engineering project leader, supplying project management and technical direction during all program phases, including pursuit, bidding, planning, execution, and sustainment.
- Ensure consistency with Collins Aerospace technical consistent engineering processes.
- Ensure compliance with program and product requirements as reflected in design plans.
- Lead and mentor a wide range of entry-level to highly experienced engineers.
- Demonstrate technical ability to process platforms and the associated technologies.
- Maintain awareness of key technologies and the company's competitive position
- Team up with a high-performance software team, collaborating with fellow Software Engineers, Team Leads, Project Engineer, Software Architects and other teams.

- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
- Demonstrated systems and/or software engineering experience on complex avionics programs.
- Familiar with standard systems and software development practices (V Model).
- Experience with military and commercial systems/software certification (e.g. DO-178, DO-297, etc.).
- 5 years of leading engineering teams, preferably small engineering teams (5-10 engineers), and experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM)
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and stakeholders.
