JOB DESCRIPTIONASSISTANT WAIVER SUPPORT MANAGER AND MEDICAL TRANSPORTGENERAL STATEMENT:While this position specifies responsibilities, requirements and duties in certain areas, this person is an employee of Independent Living Services, Inc. and will be expected to respond as such to requests not specifically contained herein. This person must maintain the attitude that he/she works for the total organization, and as such, exhibit proper cooperation, enthusiasm and interest in all areas deemed necessary for the continuing success of the ILS programs.JOB SUMMARY:The Assistant Waiver Support Manager works directly under the supervision of the Assistant Program Director. Regular contact with the supervisor is necessary. This person will be part of a team effort including the individual being served, family, other personnel and/or service providers identified in the plan of care. A positive relationship with the individuals and their families is vitally important. It is the responsibility of this employee to be familiar with ILS Policies and Procedures and to work in such a way that supervision and services are provided in an effective manner consistent with policies, procedures of ILS and Federal and State laws/regulations. It is also the responsibility of this person to be familiar with HUD rules and regulations. This position will be on call during off duty hours for emergencies as necessary. This is a salaried position.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:General duties and guiding principles:

  • Completing all necessary documentation to assure compliance with all state and federal regulations. These may include, but are not limited to: daily data sheets and clinic notes, attendance logs, time records, incident reports, behavior reports, accident reports, seizure reports, etc.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality for all consumer information, and facility operations
Job Duties: * Financial Management:
  • Keep fiscal data current for reporting service eligibility as needed.
  • Assist with money management for people receiving services as needed.
  • Assist with paying bills: writing checks, getting signatures, and filing receipts as needed.
  • Maintain financial files as needed.
  • Assist residents with budgets and money management.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Assist staff with electronic timesheets and data.
  • Assists with filing as needed.
  • Complete quarterly reports.
  • Participates in all staff meetings and staff trainings as required.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information received regarding ILS and the confidentiality shall be in compliance with ILS non-disclosure policy.
  • Medical Appointments:
  • Assist with medical appointments
  • Transports consumers inside and outside of the medical facility in a timely and punctual manner
  • Completes medical forms during and after each appointment to ensure that the Support Manager and Nurse receive a copy
  • Ensure that all medical forms are filed immediately in consumer files
  • Transport medical equipment and supplies to consumers when needed
  • Establishes and maintains communication with Support Managers and ILS Nurse after medical appointments
  • Respects and protects consumer confidentiality and hospital confidentiality by keeping all sensitive and medical information private
  • Follows all protocols and procedures to ensure safe delivery of consumer, their possessions, supplies and laboratory specimens
  • Assists with ensuring pharmacies are up to date on all medical, insurance changes and order medications.
  • Resident Care and Programming:
  • Provides input into each resident's PCPS/Individual Service Plan i.e., strengths, weaknesses and objectives.
  • Document progress on specific goals of residents in resident's file.
  • Guide residents in accomplishing PCPS/ISP objectives by demonstrating techniques and reinforcing good performance/discouraging inappropriate behavior.
  • Supervising Employees:
  • Assists in interviewing and making recommendations for hiring.
  • Assigns employees daily activities as required.
  • Provides input into evaluation of job performance of employees.
The Assistant Waiver Support Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the complex and the needs of the consumers. The essential duties of the Assistant Waiver Support Manager, include, without limitation, making sure that consumers needs are being taken care of and to solve emergencies or situations involving consumers or the home, which duties require the Assistant Waiver Support Manager to be on site to make an evaluation and informed decision regarding any situation nor issues.
