Our innovative product line of thermoplastic polyurethanes enables a diverse set of medical devices that improve and save lives.What You'll Do:As a Technical Specialist, you will be an integral part of our dynamic R&D Laboratory. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work collaboratively with our scientists and engineers to address and resolve a diverse range of technical challenges. The successful candidate will exemplify a strong commitment to the safe and efficient operation of our laboratories, which encompass both thermal processing equipment and sensitive analytical instruments.What We're Looking For:
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and laboratory best practices.
- Commit our Safety and Quality practices.
- Maintain labs using the 5S Methodology: maintain equipment and lab space by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, wiping down equipment, organizing tools, and inventorying samples.
- Lead broadly defined experimental projects: plan the project, execute the work, collaborate with internal and external experts, report summaries of progress at key milestones.
- Solve complex technical challenges related to the processing and performance of thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs) through close collaboration with scientists and engineers.
- Maintain and operate our lab’s analytical instruments safely and efficiently.
- Enter and analyze data in our ELN / LIM systems.
- Assist in the operation of polymer processing equipment and write standard operating procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and process issues to maintain smooth lab operations.
- Capture experimental data accurately and maintain detailed records using new electronic lab notebook.
- Analyze and interpret data in collaboration with fellow staff members to support research goals.
- Associates Degree in a Technical Discipline. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline is a plus.
- 1+ years of experience working in an R&D Laboratory. (5 or more years is a plus)
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience communicating and collaborating with diverse audiences including writing technical reports and presenting to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with thermal processing of polymers. 5 or more years of experience with processing, properties, and/or performance of thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), especially thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs) is a plus.
- Proficient in using collaboration software including SharePoint and OneNote.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Familiarity with ISO and ASTM Standards is preferred
