DescriptionThis is a entry-level design engineering position that offers a variety of challenging opportunities in Civil/Structural Engineering and will provide an excellent opportunity for career advancement.
Support Civil and/or Structural design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team
Under supervision, responsible for production of engineering calculations/analyses, design drawings, specifications, and engineering reports. Ensure that calculations and deliverables are technically sound and in accordance with project requirements
Apply civil and structural engineering principles to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and components
Attend project meetings and perform field walk downs
QualificationsMust be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.Essential skills and experience:
Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance
BSCE, BSSE, or BSME degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program; MS degree preferred
2+ years of progressively responsible experience in civil and structural engineering
Self-motivated, have a strong willingness to learn, be able to work independently as well as with a multi-disciplined team, and have excellent organizational and communication skills
Knowledge of the practical application of structural engineering
Valued but not required skills and experience:
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) certificate
Multiple years of experience in a nuclear environment (DOE preferred, commercial or Navy), highly desirable
Familiarity with design codes such as ACI, ASCE 7, IBC, and AISC
Familiarity with structural analysis software such as ANSYS or SAP2000 or equivalent
Field Engineering and Construction Experience
