- Work Location: Reston, VA
- Coordinate within the mechanical group and other disciplines/functions in developing system designs including but not limited to Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), calculations, data sheets, material requisitions, and engineering specifications.
- Resolve technical issues related to the discipline independently including any required interface with other disciplines, functions, vendors, and/or client.
- Execute schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work products.
- Level 1 - BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or college with one (1) years of progressive related experience, or in lieu of degree, seven (7) years of progressive related experience.
- Level 2 - BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or college with three (3) years of progressive related experience, or in lieu of degree, nine (9) years of progressive related experience.
- Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Must be authorized to live and work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Excellent oral and written communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to utilize office automation tools effectively.
- Some knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards
- Some knowledge of the application of Mechanical engineering design principles.
- Knowledge of Bechtel Corporate guides and standards.
- Experience in power (nuclear) plant design.
- Experience in working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000.
- Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience.
- Engineer-in-Training Certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
