- Valid DOT Medical Card (or ability to obtain one).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test. This role is subject to federal and company drug/alcohol testing regulations.
- 2+ years of experience operating commercial motor vehicles (CMV) hauling materials. (3+ years preferred.)
- Clean driving record (must meet company insurance requirements).
- Ability to pass a road test demonstrating CMV operation, pre/post-trip inspections, and load securing.
- Satisfactory DOT/MVR background check.
- Strong knowledge of truck driving regulations and safety procedures.
- Ability to adapt to unexpected conditions (traffic, weather, etc.).
- Willingness to perform additional duties, including training other drivers as needed.
- Ensure on-time deliveries while operating CMVs safely.
- Adhere to all DOT, state, and company regulations for truck operation.
- Maintain accurate Hours of Service (HOS) logs as per legal and company requirements.
- Maneuver vehicles for loading and unloading
- Handle required paperwork, including bills of lading and receipts.
- Perform and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Immediately report any equipment issues or defects.
- Operate dump trailer controls externally from the cab.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Train and assist other drivers as needed.
- Continuous use of vision (close/distance/peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment).
- Manual dexterity and strength (use of hands, arms, and feet for equipment operation).
- Frequent standing, talking, and hearing.
- Lifting/moving up to 100 lbs. (occasionally with assistance).
- Occasional walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Outdoor job sites with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Construction zones with heavy equipment and moving mechanical parts.
- Loud noise environments and occasional exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, or electricity.
