Maintains diesel Trucks and equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies and making adjustments.Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Troubleshoots problems, making economical and durable repairs.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists and hand tools.
- Maintains and repairs heavy equipment, trucks, shop, and non-mobile equipment on a company-wide basis.
- Services vehicles/equipment to include oil changes, greasing, adding fluids, changing filters and maintaining preventative maintenance schedules.
- Troubleshoots and repairs electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, drive trains, etc.
- Orders parts and supplies through parts department. Operates computer for job functions.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Starts and run or drive devices to test their performance.
- Welds broken parts and structural members.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Other duties as assigned.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working on ready-mix trucks highly desirable.
- Experience in the building materials/construction industry preferred.
- Must be proficient in use of a computer and ability to learn usage of a program to track the work orders. Preferred adept at use of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Must be 18 years in age or older.
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Must have a current and valid driver’s license. CDL is a plus.
- Own tools are required.
- Knowledge of Highway Trucks, Cement Mixers, Construction equipment preferred.
- The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to signal and handle equipment.
- The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 50 lbs.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move 5-15lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
