We are currently seeking a Senior CA Datacom Systems Administrator.Responsibilities:Primary database administrator for the CA Datacom subsystems for the client's mainframe.Provides tuning and performance recommendations, configures, and maintains and supports CA Datacom applications.Provide technical assistance and production support to the development teams for related issues and concerns.Provides CA Datacom reporting and system information for Datacomm auditing, support CA Datacom audit tools, including Solutionary, and XBridge.Monitor CA Datacom performance and recommend tuning to improve performance.Also responsible for third party development tools from Compuware.Install and configure CA DatacomInstall and configure CA Datacom related tools such as Insight and Catalog ManagerProduction support and problem resolutionEnsuring recoverability by setting up proper backup utilities and proceduresProduction monitoring and performance analysisPerformance tuning which includes but is not limited to improving indexing, rewriting SQL, and restructuring CA Datacom objectsDatabase design reviewsReviewing and implementing database changes such as new tables, modifying existing tables, new indexes, and creating a variety of other DB2 objects as needed by the applicationScheduling or running utilities to maintain optimal database organization for best performancePerforming database recovery when necessitated by hardware or software failureProviding guidance and support and debugging expertise to application developersParticipating in security auditsMonitoring application unit testing and system/load testing in developmentEducation/Experience:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience10 years experienceRequired Qualifications:CA Datacom installation and configuration experienceCA Datacom administration experienceCA Datacom tuning experience to include performance recommendationsExperience with CA Datacom related tools such as Insight and Catalog ManagerProduction support and problem resolution
