
Principal Systems Engineer - Air Traffic Solutions (Onsite)

- You will work on the cutting-edge STARS air traffic control system, the backbone of air traffic management in the United States.
- You will join a dynamic systems engineering team dedicated to modernizing the STARS system under an exciting new contract.
- You will drive innovation by developing creative solutions to customer challenges and crafting system and product-level requirements.
- You will play a key role in verifying these requirements by developing rigorous sell-off criteria, ensuring the highest standards of performance and safety.
- You will have a direct impact on modernizing air traffic control across the country.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- Must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in systems engineering, with expertise in requirements decomposition, flow-down, and verification.
- Must have prior experience with IBM DOORS, Atlassian Jira, Confluence, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have experience generating technical documentation and preparing and facilitating briefings with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- U.S. citizenship is required - Only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under these programs/contracts.
- Must be willing to obtain FAA clearance: Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) clearance.
- Prior experience with programming skills in C, C++ and/or Java/J2EE, scripting languages like Python, or modeling tools such as MATLAB.
- Prior experience using the CAMEO modelling tool
- Prior experience in Cloud based systems
- Prior experience supporting a US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) government contract.
- Prior experience in Air Traffic Control or Airspace/Aircraft Services
- Prior experience with Agile Development Processes.
- Prior experience with Red Hat Linux 9.x. - Prior experience with integration and test best practices.
