possibleResponsibilities:Duties & Responsibilities:Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Performs inventory management to include receiving, assessment, storage, transferring, and
- distribution of medical specimens/devices.
- Adheres to strict guidelines when handling specimen/devices while performing inventory
- management functions.
- Performs related shipping and receiving functions of medical specimens/devices to include
- picking/packing, serial number/lot number verification, package preparation, scanning, courier
- interaction, tracking of incoming and outgoing shipments, and general follow-up as needed.
- Responds to biorepository alert systems with appropriate follow-up action.
- Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect specimen integrity and either must
- correct the problems or immediately notify the general supervisor, technical supervisor, manager,
- or director of the biorepository operations.
- Performs on-call duties and responses to biorepository alert systems.
- Performs equipment monitoring and maintenance on all biorepository related equipment,
- including liquid nitrogen (LN2) bulk supply.
- Performs quality control checks on all biorepository related equipment.
- Interacts and updates various databases related to biorepository functions and activities.
- Provide administration support by producing various reports and record keeping associated with
- biorepository functions and activities.
- Adheres to strict safety guidelines.
- Handles LN2 utilizing personal protective equipment and good safety practices.
- Assist in external/internal audit preparations as required.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties and projects as required.
- Must be able to routinely lift and carry items unassisted.
- High School diploma (or equivalent) required.
- A minimum of 1-2 years related experience and/or training.
- Or combination of education and alternative industry experience.
- Associate degree in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences.
- Two years related experience in science, laboratory, inventory, shipping and/or receiving.
- Laboratory/Manufacturing environment.
- The employee is regularly required to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time.
- The employee is regularly required to stand and walk; and occasionally required to climb, balance or
- stoop.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 54 pounds unassisted.
- Moderate exposure to bloodborne pathogens and toxic chemicals, especially LN2
