CNC Machinist / Programmer - 2nd or 3rd Shift

GENERAL SUMMARY

Will maintain CNC Equipment to produce required quality and production that meets customer expectations. Provides programming and machining expertise in support of the Engineering Department and client requests. Will program, set up and operate machinery for the fabrication of parts.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

· Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned CNC equipment, plan for and take corrective action.

· Measuring product for quality specifications, using inspection gauges and instruments.

· Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain required quality and maximum production.

· Measuring product for quality specifications, using inspection gauges and instruments.

· Solve dimensional problems as needed.

· Repair fixtures, hydraulics, drill heads, gears, bearings, bushings and general department maintenance.

· Replace all department drills, endmills, taps, boring bars, and facemills.

· Basic CNC Programming.

· Such other duties as are assigned from time-to-time.

EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING REQUIRED OR PREFERRED

· Blueprint reading, use of all department inspection equipment, tool changes, offset changes, boring bars, and indicators.

· Basic CNC programming. Recovery process for E-Stop and/or machine crash conditions.

· Die Cast and experience with Fanuc and Mitsubishi machinery a plus.

JOB EXPECTATIONS

· To lead efforts to consistently and continuously improve productivity, quality and safety.

· Recover and repair crashed machinery, run and check parts for dimensions

· Use Company Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.

· Improve cycle times.

· Change CNC tooling as necessary in Mills and Lathes.

· LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE REQUIRED

· OSHA approved forklift license
