At Janicki, we work on complex parts and assemblies for aerospace and space exploration markets.Weekday Grave Shift Hours: 9:00 pm - 7:30 am, Monday - ThursdayThere is a $2.00 shift differential for weekday grave shift.POSITION DESCRIPTIONThis position is located on-site in Layton, Utah.The Machinist/Mill Technician performs a variety of duties and utilizes multiple skillsets to set up, machine & inspect complex machined components in a 5-axis environment. Technicians are required to read & interpret drawings, follow process instructions, and monitor machine controllers. Daily tasks include changing & monitoring cutting tools, part inspection (laser and manual inspection), machine operation, part loading and routine machine maintenance. Machinists/Mill Technicians are expected to support other activities as needed to include but not limited to deburring, part detailing and assembly.The following essential job functions are performed as a Mill Technician:
  • Attention to detail and quality is required
  • Reads and understands blueprints, isometric drawings and work orders
  • Must be able to recognize and report machine problems and difficulties
  • Understanding of mill gauging procedures
  • Receives and carries out directions from designated Supervisors and Production Leads
  • Must be able to understand and comply with Safety Practices
  • Sets up scaffolding and safety barriers under direction
  • Properly executes Hazardous Material Disposal activities
  • Performs prescribed maintenance on machines and facilities as required
  • Knowledge of common hand tools
  • Works in other Cells to support Production as required, ie; Mold Fab or Assembly Cells
  • Performs on the job training, AS9100, Nadcap training and other training as required
  • Compliance with 5S, AS9100 and Nadcap Standards and Practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • This position may require the ability to obtain a security clearance with special program access.
  • Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. The incumbent shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors
  • Being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
QUALIFICATIONSDue to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Three years (3) of machining/mill experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in composite or fiberglass fabrication and repair is preferred.
  • Must have the ability to read, understand and follow work orders, written procedures, blueprints, drawings, and other technical documents.
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Wage range for this role is between $20 - $48 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki's estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
