- Provide expert customer support for Ciena Government Solutions Inc., ensuring seamless integration of Ciena products into legacy networks.
- Develop and execute internal and carrier test plans to guarantee interoperability and network modernization.
- Design and implement software deployment plans that align with customer network architecture and ensure optimal functionality and security.
- Prepare and execute implementation plans for network improvements based on stakeholder designs.
- Collaborate with customers on troubleshooting, installation, and implementation of dedicated servers and Ciena Software Systems in secure environments.
- Deliver weekly updates to internal and external contract team members, including Ciena project managers and engineers.
- Serve as the local subject matter expert for standards development and interpretation of customer requirements.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with a Top Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Networking, or related technical field, plus 5–10 years of relevant experience.
- Expertise in Linux administration, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments.
- Proficiency in shell scripting, Python, PERL, and other scripting languages.
- Knowledge of automation/DevOps tools and experience with software security testing.
- Familiarity with Ciena’s product family and hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, Layer 2 and 3 networking, and NMS applications.
- Certified per DoD 8140.03M standards and skilled in JAVA, Python, JSON, Ansible, Chef, and Puppet.
- Experience with Kafka messaging bus and monitoring tools like Nagios, Grafana, Prometheus, and Kibana.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices deployment, including Talos Kubernetes.
- Experience in cloud-based environments such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OpenShift.
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, source control systems like GitHub, and ticketing systems like JIRA.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in customer-facing roles.
- Ability to develop automation tools for efficient data collection and issue resolution.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
The annual pay range for this position is $112,400 - $179,600.#LI-BS1Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business.
