Job Title: Phlebotomy Technician (Donor)Location: Keesler Medical Center, Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS 39534Work Schedule: Monday Friday, 40 hours per week; 8Hrs Shift (0700 1800 with 1-hour lunch). May include variable shifts during blood drives (0300 2359) to meet mission needs.Qualifications:Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program preferred.Experience:Minimum 1 year of experience within the past 24 months performing phlebotomy and donor blood collection.Experience in a donor center, mobile blood drive, or hospital transfusion service is strongly preferred.License/Certification:National Phlebotomy Certification (ASCP, AMT, NHA, or equivalent).Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or ARC.Valid Mississippi State Class D Light Commercial Driver's License (must be obtained within 3 months of employment).Other Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen.Responsibilities:Perform venipuncture and blood collection procedures from volunteer donors in compliance with FDA, AABB, DoD, and Armed Services Blood Program (ASBP) regulations.Conduct donor eligibility screening, including obtaining vital signs, donor history, and informed consent.Monitor donors during and after donation, responding to adverse reactions and ensuring donor comfort and safety.Accurately labels, document, and maintain chain of custody for collected blood and specimens.Assist in the preparation, packaging, and transport of blood and components for processing and distribution.Maintain sterile techniques, infection control, and safety standards during all collection activities.Operate, clean, and maintain collection equipment, including apheresis and whole blood collection devices.Provide exceptional customer service to all donors and educate them on donation process and eligibility.Support mobile blood drives at Keesler AFB and off-site locations (Maxwell AFB, Pensacola NAS, Gulfport CB Center, Stennis Space Center).Collaborate with laboratory and medical staff to ensure safe, efficient, and timely donor collection services.Participate in training new staff and maintaining readiness for ASBP audits and inspections.Prime Physicians is a physician-led, The Joint Commission (TJC) Accredited, ISO 9001 certified and CMMI Level 3 appraised organization.
